The Ministry of Finance opposed the change in the taxation system for agricultural producers proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture. The agricultural department is confident that a producer can be allowed to pay VAT while using the unified agricultural tax in parallel. This step will facilitate the interaction of suppliers and retail chains, which benefit from working with companies that pay VAT. However, lawyers support the Ministry of Finance – in their opinion, the hybrid system will increase the purchase cost of products for retailers and nullify the whole idea of a simplified single tax for manufacturers, Izvestia writes.
